Video: Reform History at Teamster Conventions

TDU members and other reform Teamsters have taken the issues to Teamster Conventions for nearly 40 years – and won major gains for all Teamster members. This ten-minute video shows reformers speaking “truth to power” from 1981 through 2006 (when the video was produced).

Included is footage from ABC “Nightline”, the historic 1991 IBT Conventions, and how members won the Right to Vote for officers and for delegates.

With the 2016 IBT Convention upcoming, Teamsters have a chance to make a lot more history. This historic video gives you the background to understand how Teamsters have won democratic gains and protected them from those who would strip them away.

In spite of all this considerable effort ,the IRB’s decade plus ( now a 1/4 CENTURY ) consent order ,Hoffa Hogan did leave something in Vegas .A decade of still ongoing RACKETEERING at the largest Tradeshow venue and members local#631, (Tadeshow).
Tradeshow visitors and exhibition is the engine that drives the Las Vegas economy. .hence the states.
We no longer have seniority or H/W for most members..only the Racketeers chosen few meet
    threshold requirements.
Really have little empathy for the IBT TURD KING Hogan being booted out!
This local is just ‘churning ’ workers’ with a Temp. Service standard of representation.
all the while taking home large $$80,000 +B.Agents $134K for P.Officer) of course all the plumb jobs go to the 5F club(family friends F
-k buddies Felons and dope fiends)
Our principal officer Wife ‘got’ a job here with Freeman decorators ,the nations largest Tradeshow contractor. .what a coincidence. .he has learned well from Hoffa’s Racketeering trus tee his mentor forced into retirement by IRB’s sanction

An Ugly Start to Electronic Voting

It was an ugly start for electronic voting on national contracts. For the first time in more than a decade, the Hoffa administration tried to deny members and vote count observers the right to see the ballot count results from each local union. But after a week of delays and inquiries by TDU attorney Barbara Harvey, the IBT relented, and turned over the ABF vote totals to TDU's designated observer John Palmer.
