February 26, 2010: The Teamsters and YRCW are working together to support proposed pension legislation that would help both the company and union pension plans.
February 25, 2010. YRC continues to push forward with further consolidation they claim is a response to inefficiencies and poor economic conditions.
February 18, 2010: The U.S. Department of Transportation has published a proposed rule that would toughen its workplace drug-testing program for truck drivers and other transportation workers, including testing for the drugs “ecstasy” and heroin.
February 18, 2010: YRC Worldwide Inc. on Wednesday said its shareholders approved a series of measures required as part of a recent debt-for-equity exchange and a recent agreement by investors to provide YRC with $70 million in new liquidity.
February 2, 2010: After three votes, a YRC concession package has passed in Chicago Local 705, but without a 5 percent wage cut.
January 21, 2010: Chicago YRC Teamsters in Local 705 are voting yet again on concessions; the mail ballots will be counted on January 30.
January 18, 2010: Like a cat with nine lives, YRCW rolled into 2010 with its debt-reduction plan implemented.
January 8, 2010: The International Union held a YRC members conference call yesterday to congratulate themselves and to thank members for their sacrifices to keep YRC rolling. IBT Freight Director Tyson Johnson also stated that he expects Chicago Teamsters to take a 5% pay cut by February 1.
January 5, 2010: The International Freight Division is hosting a mass telephone conference call for YRC Teamsters on Thursday, Jan. 7.
January 4, 2009: YRC Worldwide Inc. and its employees finally have reason to cheer this New Year's holiday, although the trucking giant still faces challenges.
