April Fools: Teamsters’ Ken Hall Resigns, Joins UPS Management Team

April 1, 2015: Ken Hall has resigned his position from the IBT effective today to join UPS’s top management team in Atlanta.

“I’ve basically been working for UPS for years,” Hall said. “We thought it made more sense at this point to just go ahead and make it official.”

Sean O’Brien resigned his posts at the International Union and Teamsters Local 25 to join Hall in Atlanta where O’Brien will be in charge of coordinating all supplemental agreements.

Upon learning the news, other Hoffa administration officials reportedly tried to obtain similar positions at YRC but were turned down.

“We’ve taken everything we’ve wanted and more from Teamster brass without having to add them to the payroll; why do it now?” said YRC CEO James Welch.

Teamsters for a Democratic Union tried to reach General President James P. Hoffa for comment, but he was out of the office and his voicemail box was full.

“No one has seen Hoffa here in months,” said an IBT staff member who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The staffer suggested leaving a message for Hoffa with the Ed Schultz Show: “That’s the only place he ever seems to show his face,” they said. But calls to MSNBC went unreturned.

Happy April Fools Day. If you’re tired of the joke being on you, join forces with TDU. We’re bringing together members for change and backing the Teamsters United slate to win new Teamster leadership and a new direction for our Union.
