Wall Street analysts report that ABF deal would be a win for management if it’s approved because of “low annual wage increases and a freeze in pension contributions.”

The proposed ABF tentative agreement has finally been revealed – and it’s not what Teamsters deserve or expect.  This deal should be sent back for renegotiation and improvement.

The Hoffa administration is moving fast to push the ABF contract. The details of the secret deal will be revealed on Thursday. Electronic voting to approve or reject the deal will begin within days after that. ABF Teamsters need to be ready to cast an informed vote.

The International Union has set a meeting for April 12 in Chicago where local officers from all ABF locals will review the proposed tentative national contract.

In a show of unity, Teamsters at several locals, including some of the biggest ABF terminals, voted by 98% over the past two weeks to authorize a strike. The vote sent a signal to the company that its propaganda is not weakening rank and file solidarity.

Teamsters United has launched the ABF Teamsters United website with news and updates about the ABF contract, including contract proposals and strike authorization votes.

Some Teamster locals are holding strike authorization votes for ABF Teamsters to put pressure on the company to respond to union demands to reverse concessions and protect Teamster jobs.
