Both Central States and the National United Committee to Protect Pensions are strongly encouraging active and retired Teamsters to call Congress now and ask them to support the protection of pensions in any legislation that will provide tax dollars to address the pending economic crisis caused by Covid-19.

UPS Freight will pay up to ten days of paid leave to Teamsters who are diagnosed with COVID-19, living with someone with COVID-19, or have been quarantined by a government agency, medical professional or by the company.

Freight Director Ernie Soehl told Teamster officials on a national conference call that he is in constant communication with freight employers regarding responses and operations during the COVID-19 epidemic.

The union representing 30,000 workers at Verizon has negotiated paid leave for union members who can’t work during the COVID-19 outbreak. Will our International Union fight for these benefits to protect working Teamsters?
