The Teamster anti-corruption officers --  the Independent Investigations Officer (IIO) and Independent Review Officer (IRO) – issue regular reports to members. You can see their most recent reports, dated March 17, 2022, and July 25, 2022, on the IBT website.

The IBT General Executive Board (GEB) has approved the recommendation by James Hoffa to appoint Tony Andrews as International VP for the Western Region, over the dissent of president-elect Sean O’Brien and nearly half of the GEB members.

Although Rome Aloise was found guilty on all three counts on October 7, he continues to draw $300,000+ in Teamster salaries as he awaits his sentencing hearing. Now, that sentencing hearing has been postponed from November 12 until December 3.

Rome Aloise, the self-described “creator of the Vairma slate” was found guilty on all three counts against him today by Judge Barbara Jones, the Independent Review Officer (IRO) of the Teamsters Union. Read the judge's decision here.

The hearing of disgraced IBT Vice President President Rome Aloise before Judge Barbara Jones begins today. Aloise has been found guilty by more independent Election Supervisors and anti-corruption officers than any other Teamster official. Rome’s latest hearing on racketeering and other charges may well be his last.  

Hoffa’s Chief of Staff Todd Thompson has been removed from his position after a bizarre incident involving on-the-job drinking, an argument over sharing the couch during a zoom call, a hurled cup, broken glasses, and a police report.

The 2020 financial reports filed with the Department of Labor by locals, joint councils and the IBT are now available on line; the deadline for filing was March 31.  

The corruption hearing on the racketeering and corruption charges against Rome Aloise begins on April 6 and will continue for up to nine days, according to Judge Barbara Jones. Aloise is the International Vice President from California who is a serial corruption violator, and the architect of the Vairma-Herrera slate for the IBT office.
