After the worst Information Brownout in Teamster history, the tentative deal reached between UPS and Hoffa’s negotiator Denis Taylor is finally seeing the light of day.

The UPS Teamsters United campaign has three new contract bulletins that break down Two-Tier Hybrid Drivers and part-time pay. Print them up, pass them out, inform the members, and make UPS deliver.

Hoffa’s Package Division Director Denis Taylor has issued a memorandum to sell Two-Tier Hybrid Drivers to skeptical members.

Taylor still refuses to release the proposed Article 22.4 language, even to local unions. But his memo cherry-picks from the language to craft a sales pitch aimed mostly at Package Car Drivers.

Hoffa’s negotiator Denis Taylor has kept the contents of his tentative contract deal with UPS secret, even from the members of his own National Negotiating Committee. But that hasn’t stopped them from selling a contract that is not even finished.

UPDATED--7:40PM.  Hoffa’s chief negotiator Denis Taylor and UPS have reached a handshake deal on a national contract that includes two-tier Hybrid Drivers that would deliver ground packages on a lower pay scale.

UPS made $5 billion last year.  But the company is demanding givebacks and a substandard contract.

National UPS contract talks will be held from June 18-21.

While the company is at the bargaining table, members will be in parking lots and at UPS guard shacks and gates, passing out a Contract Update to let other UPSers know about some of the issues that are on the table and raising awareness of company demands that we need to defeat.
