UPS released fat profit numbers today. The company made $1.3 billion in the 2nd quarter. The company projects record profits for the year. The money is there for a good contract. UPS and UPS Freight Teamsters can’t let the IBT settle short or sell us out again.

Teamsters United has launched a Contract Unity Pledge to send UPS and the International Union a message that members are fed up with harassment and contract givebacks.

Teamster volunteers are asking UPSers to sign a Contract Unity Pledge that says, “I will stand with Teamster members at UPS to defeat harassment and contract givebacks and win the contract we deserve.”

Fred Zuckerman and UPS Teamsters talked contract issues and made organizing plans to win a strong contract on a national conference call on June 10.

UPS announced today that it made $1.16 billion in profits in the first quarter. But with contract negotiations coming, management is preaching “cost control.”

UPS package drivers in Northern California who work a Tuesday-Saturday schedule are entitled to premium pay of 35 cents an hour. Drivers in other locals may be out of luck. 

Harassment and unfair discipline are out of control. It won’t change unless we win tougher contract language and grievance procedure reform in the next contract.

If the International Union can’t enforce the 9.5 language, then what chance does a member have?

UPS is implementing Tuesday to Saturday work schedules for package drivers in test markets across the country. What do the contract and IBT have to say? Teamsters are looking for answers.

Removed as the IBT’s lead negotiator at UPS, Ken Hall announced he will focus on pension issues. Teamsters should be worried.

Amazon and e-commerce continue to be a game-changer at UPS. The company’s top brass announced today they will look to cut costs. When the next contract is negotiated, UPS Teamsters need to be ready to defend our jobs.
