Carhaul Tentative National Agreement [1]
June 1, 2011: The International Union has announced that they reached a tentative national agreement with the carhaul industry. It will be presented to local union leaders on June 13 and then be voted on by a mail ballot of all affected members.
No details are available at this time.
Yesterday, on May 31, the International Union reported that the employers asked for a contract extension but the union refused and insisted on bargaining a contract by the midnight expiration. This was strange, because the union never conducted a strike vote, thus could not legally strike, so had little leverage to back up union demands.
