Defending our Contracts and Benefits?

Some of our union’s highest-paid officials are the ones who are failing to defend our master contracts and benefits.

Ken Hall is threatening to allow UPS to devastate Teamster pensions by pulling 43,000 Teamsters out of the Central States plan. He easily made the Club at $206,726. (This total compensation does not include Hall’s generous multiple pensions.)

Brad Slawson, Sr., secretly negotiated a concessionary master contract at DHL until an uproar from angry Teamsters forced Hoffa to back off. He bagged a cool $215,935 last year. Slawson’s giveback contract with DHL included an expansion in part-time jobs. That seems fitting: with three salaried Teamster positions, Slawson knows something about part-time work himself.

Carhaul Director Fred Zuckerman’s total compensation rose by 17 percent last year. Zuckerman and Hoffa recently teamed up to push through a wage cut at the Teamsters largest carhaul employer of—you guessed it—17 percent.
