2024 TDU Convention Recap

TDU just had its biggest Convention ever. With 600 Teamsters including 50+ Amazon workers and organizers, it was an unforgettable weekend.

Here are some highlights from the last three days.

Educational Workshops

We held over 30 workshops where members learned how to develop new leaders, win strong contracts, run for local union office, and enforce Teamster contracts.

Speakers on Rank-and-File Power

We heard from members who build rank-and-file Teamster power from the ground up.

These Teamsters are organizing Amazon, transforming local unions, and winning strong contracts by involving members and helping them grow as shop-floor fighters.

Caucus Meetings

The TDU Black Caucus, Latino Caucus, and Women's Caucus held meetings where members shared advice, built support systems, and talked about how to build diverse leadership at every level of our union.

Organizing Amazon

Over 50 Amazon workers and organizers attended the TDU Convention.

We held Amazon-specific workshops every day to share strategies for organizing the world's largest sweatshop. At "Meeting the Amazon Challenge," Teamster members learned how to support Amazon workers' fight.

Special Guests

Teamsters General President Sean O'Brien and AFA-CWA President Sara Nelson addressed the Convention.

"The campaign to organize Amazon isn't just an Amazon worker fight," said O'Brien. "It's a Teamster fight."

"There is no higher office than union office," said Nelson. (That could be the new TDU slogan).
