Batesville Products Teamsters Strike for Union Recognition

Batesville Products workers in Lawrenceburg, Indiana are done waiting on union-busting stall tactics. Now they've gone on strike to demand that their company recognizes their union.

In April, a strong majority of workers signed union cards to become Teamsters, Teamsters Local 135 filed a petition for a union election with the National Labor Relations Board.

In response, the company used a union-busting tactic and filed technical objections over which workers can participate in the vote — to stonewall and delay the election.

The NLRB is at historically low staffing levels, causing major backlogs. It could take six months or longer to resolve the dispute, buying the company time to try to bust the union.

Last week, workers voted to strike. The IBT is providing full benefits to support their fight for union recognition.
