Amazon Teamsters are celebrating the largest strike at Amazon in U.S. history. The strike drew national attention and strengthened union organizing at Amazon Here’s how:
The Teamsters strike against Amazon has expanded and strengthened—and Amazon fears the growing workers movement.

Nearly 10,000 Amazon workers joined the Teamsters in 2024. But the company has refused to recognize their union or come to the bargaining table.
This peak season, Amazon Teamsters responded to the company with a strike in nine cities.
The Strike Showed Organizing at Amazon is Spreading
Amazon workers have petitioned, marched on the boss, and even organized walkouts. But this was the first nationally coordinated Amazon strike.
Picket lines blocked trucks, delayed deliveries and showed workers the power in their hands.
Amazon PR hacks ridiculously tried to claim there was no strike and no Teamsters at Amazon. That dog didn't hunt. Strike action and Teamster organizing spread.
Amazon can't stop lying because they know it's impossible to justify their exploitation.

The Strike Inspired Amazon Workers to Organize
Teamsters extended picket lines to dozens of Amazon fulfillment centers across the country and leafleted drivers and warehouse workers.
The strike action and picket lines inspired more Amazon workers to get involved.
In Monroe, Ohio, a group of Amazon workers saw the picket lines spontaneously joined the strike.
In Queens, Amazon warehouse workers walked out and joined the strike started by drivers.
Nationwide, thousands of Amazon workers contacted the union to join the organizing drive. These new contacts will be the building blocks to spread the organizing drive next year.

The Strike Showed Amazon is Scared
Amazon Teamsters aren't afraid. But the company is. In New York City, Amazon had police arrest a driver for stopping his delivery van and joining the strike.
The driver was briefly detained and greeted with a hero's welcome back at the picket line where he signed up for his $200 in daily strike pay.
Later, Amazon flooded the same picket line. The picket resumed stronger than ever.
Come hell or high water, Amazon Teamsters will win this fight against corporate greed in the end.

Building the Movement in 2025
Amazon's sweatshop business model is unfair to its workers and a threat to all of us. What happens at Amazon will affect Teamster jobs and standards in every industry.
Amazon Teamsters are growing in numbers and organizing power. They need our support to succeed.
TDU members helped organize and support the first nationwide strike at Amazon. It won't be the last.
Join the fight. Contact your local union and TDU to find out how you can be involved.
