IBT Election Supervisor Speaks at Teamsters Unity Conference

Election Supervisor Timothy S. Hillman spoke to leaders and members from almost every local on the Election Rules and timeline for the 2025-2026 Election for International Union Officers and Convention Delegates.

The Election Rules are now in effect. Proposed changes and comments can be submitted to the Election Supervisor until June 27. See the Election Supervisor’s website for how to submit. The final rules will be announced after that.

The timeline for the election is here. It begins with the opening on June 1 of the period for accreditation petitioning of candidates and slates, and runs through the count of mail ballots in November 2026.

Every local union will hold an election for delegates to the IBT Convention; most elections will have nominations in January - March 2026. The IBT Convention will be June 14-18, 2026.
