Date Set for Teamster Election

July 19, 2011: The ballots for Teamster General President and lesser offices will be mailed out on or about October 6, and must be returned by November 14, when the count will begin.

All 1.3 million Teamsters across the USA, Canada and Puerto Rico will be entitled to vote. Help spread the word: let’s turn out a vote for change!

The TDU Convention will be held September 30 – October 2, a week prior to the ballot mailing, and just in time for the final campaign mobilization to elect Sandy Pope. The Convention will be held at the Cleveland Sheraton Airport.

Hoffa Refuses to Hold Executive Board Meetings

Teamster members elected a full General Executive Board last November. Now Hoffa refuses to hold regular meetings claiming that “past practice” dictates that he’s not required to hold GEB meetings. This is in direct violation of the Teamster Constitution, which specifically requires that the Board meet once in every quarter.
