More than 500 Amazon drivers at two facilities in Torrance, California have joined Teamsters Local 396 and are demanding that Amazon recognize their union and come to the bargaining table.

The DCX7 and DDO6 drivers went to management on October 5 to announce that they are organizing and demand that Amazon sit down with them to negotiate a contract.
The issues driving the organizing are familiar to Amazon workers everywhere: low pay, unpredictable schedules, relentless production demands, and little protection from arbitrary decisions by management.
For these drivers, the gap between Amazon’s enormous profits and their own paychecks is impossible to ignore. Some workers received only a $1 hourly increase this year even as the company’s profits surged to $77.7 billion.
In one of the country’s most expensive regions, workers say their wages aren't enough to support themselves without taking on additional jobs.
The DCX7 and DD06 drivers are the latest group to join thousands of Amazon workers organizing across the country.
More than 10,000 Amazon workers at 16 facilities across the country have joined the Teamsters.
