While management whines and tries to lower UPS Teamsters' expectations going into contract negotiations, the company is singing a very different tune to Wall Street. Today, CEO Carol Tomé told investors that UPS will haul in $92.6 billion this year, including $8.75 billion in profits.

Tomé’s announcement came on an early-morning earnings call with Wall Street investors and analysts. In the third quarter, UPS made $22.9 billion in revenue and $2.1 billion in profit in the third quarter. Both figures exceeded Wall Street expectations.
Headlines reported, “UPS beats quarterly expectations, raises full-year guidance again.”
Management Myths, Wall Street Payouts
At PCMs, management pushes the myth that UPS is in trouble and that Teamster wages and benefits are making the company unable to compete.
UPS’s own numbers tell a very different story.
UPS has made $61 billion in profits over the last decade. But almost 90% of those profits were paid to Wall Street in dividends and stock buybacks.
Over the last three years, Tomé has funneled more money to Wall Street than the company made in profits.
UPS made $18 billion in profits over the last three years, but paid a whopping $19.9 billion in dividends and stock buybacks to Wall Street.
Tomé paid herself $22.879 million last year, a 67% increase in CEO pay over her predecessor, David Abney.
The Bottom Line
UPS is profitable. Revenue and profits are on the rise in 2026. Teamster wages and benefits aren’t the problem. Carol Tomé and Wall Street greed are.
Instead of investing profits back into the company to grow the business and compete for deliveries, Tomé is funneling those profits to Wall Street, closing buildings and dumping volume.
UPS Teamsters are coming for ours. The 2028 contract is our chance to win improvements for the working Teamsters who make UPS profitable, to stop Carol Tomé and Wall Street vultures from draining this company dry, and to stand up to big tech that wants to destroy good jobs with automation and AI.
If you doubt that we have the power to do that, remember this: every day, UPS Teamsters move 6% of gross domestic product (GDP). We literally have the power to move America or to shut it down.
The 2028 contract campaign is about using that power to win the future we deserve.
