Workers at Amazon’s largest warehouse DJT6 in Riverside, California organized a one-day strike on September 2 to protest unfair labor practices by the company.

Workers at DJT6 organized with the Teamsters last year. The company has refused to come to the bargaining table and fired a rank-and-file union leader.

Amazon Teamsters at DJT6 are firing back with a 24-hour strike to protest the company’s illegal actions. 

It marks the first time that Teamsters on both primary shifts at the warehouse have taken joint action. 

Developing workers’ capacity to disrupt Amazon’s operations at key choke points in the company’s operations is a core part of the Teamsters organizing strategy at Amazon. 

Teamsters are also fighting back by pushing for the Delivery Protection Act in New York and Chicago, which would ban subcontracting schemes that Amazon uses to drive down wages and labor standards and undermine union organizing drives. 

At the federal level, the Teamsters are pushing for the Faster Labor Contracts Act, which would require employers to come to the bargaining table within 10 days of workers voting to unionize.
