Sort Workers Demand Recognition at DHL’s Biggest US Hub

Sort workers at DHL’s global hub at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) are demanding union recognition as Teamsters after DHL gave over 150 full-time workers just 24 hours notice to accept part-time positions or resign.

DHL workers rallied yesterday to demand the immediate right to negotiate a Teamsters contract to address DHL’s insulting ultimatum. They’re also calling for water and working fans and the reinstatement of wrongfully terminated coworkers.

Last year, 1,100 ramp-and-tug workers at the same facility ratified a contract with the company after a 12-day unfair labor practice strike and nationwide picket line extensions.

That victory inspired Amazon workers at the 4,500-person air hub across the street to start organizing with the Teamsters
