Faster Labor Contracts Act

New legislation has been introduced in the House that would require employers to bargain with newly organized workers within 10 days of voting to form their union.

Nurses from Corewell Health and drivers from Breakthrough Beverage joined a press conference with General President Sean O’Brien, congressional representatives and allies from other unions to introduce the bill.

Ten thousand nurses at Corewell in Michigan voted to join the Teamsters last year – and 160 drivers at Breakthru Beverage drivers joined the Teamsters in Florida. They are both fighting for their first contracts.

The Faster Labor Contracts Act bill was introduced in the Senate earlier this year by Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Josh Hawley (R-MO).
