The TDU Black Caucus coordinator Willie Hardy spoke about how he fought to become one of the first Black over-the-road drivers in the segregated South and later went on to become a leader in the movement to save Teamster pensions.
Local 89 Teamsters and TDU member Bryan Trafford talked about his journey from shop-floor contract campaign activist to Amazon organizer.
Mac Moore, a Local 89 Teamster now working at the IBT spoke about the role of the Teamster National Black Caucus in Local 89.
Alex Murphy, a Local 89 Business Agent and TDU member spoke about involving Black members as leaders in our union.
TDU Organizer Paul Prescod did a presentation on the history of Black workers in the labor movement and the role of African Americans in building the Teamsters.

The event at Local 100 explored history and what needs to be done today.
Black workers still make 24% less than white workers do. The Teamsters and other unions close this racial gap by negotiating higher wages and equal pay for equal work.
