50 Days Into Recognition Strike, Dealers Ready to Play Winning Hand

On December 5, dealers at Horseshoe Casino in Shelbyville, Indiana will vote to join Teamsters Local 135, after 50 days on strike for recognition.

Horseshoe Casino Teamsters began their strike on October 17, the same day they originally had an NLRB election scheduled for recognition.

The government shutdown indefinitely postponed their vote and casino management refused to recognize their union.

“These workers have held the line,” said Dustin Roach, President of Local 135. “They are the union and are ready to Vote Yes for long overdue union recognition.”
