The TDU Black Leadership is coming up!

Here are some important details about our schedule and plans. If you have any questions, speak with David Levin or Beth Breslaw at the TDU office at 718-287-3283.

Schedule

Our conference will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday (followed by a group dinner) and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Lunch and a light breakfast will be served on Saturday. These meals are included in your conference registration. 

On Saturday night, we will go out to dinner as a group at Raizes Churrascaria (a Brazilian Steakhouse). Your cost for this meal is $50, including taxes and gratuity, but not drinks. 

Hotel / Lodging

Out-of-town attendees will all be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn at 63 West 35th Street, New York, New York, 10001. You will get a separate email about your reservation.

Conference Location

Our conference will be held at 195 Montague Street in Brooklyn at the offices of Teamsters Local 814 located on the 3rd floor. 

The closest subway stop is Borough Hall on the 2/3/4/5 trains.

Transportation from the Hotel to the Conference

If you are coming in from out of town and arriving on Friday night, we will travel together to the Conference on Saturday morning.  We will meet in the hotel lobby at 8:15 am on Saturday and take the subway together to the Conference. TDU staff member Steering Committee member Gene Braswell and TDU staffer John McGough will meet us and guide the way. 

Airport Logistics

If you are arriving on Friday, you can take a taxi to the hotel.  The cost will be approximately $50 from LaGuardia and $56.50 flat-rate from JFK.  

Due to construction at LaGuardia, you will have to take a 15-minute shuttle bus to get to the taxi stand. Go to the baggage claim and follow the signs to the Taxi Stand/Taxi Shuttle.

Subway Directions

2 or 3 train to Borough Hall. Walk west on Montague until you reach 195 Montague St.

R train to Court Street. Walk east on Montague until you reach 195 Montague St.

4 or 5 to Brooklyn Borough Hall. Walk north on Court Street, turn left onto Montague.

A, C, or F train to Jay St. Metrotech. Walk south on Jay St, turn right onto Fulton. Continue onto Joralemon. Turn right onto Court St, then left onto Montague.

Parking Information

Limited street parking is available.

The recommended parking garage is M P G Borough, 40 Clinton St. which costs $15 ($25 for SUVs).  

To walk from the garage to 195 Montague St., head south on Clinton, past Pierrepont St., then turn left onto Montague.

Parking is also available directly across the street at Icon Parking Garage, 180 Montague St., but it is much more expensive. ($46)
