Congress has passed legislation that guts pension protections and will pave the way for benefit cuts in Teamster pension plans in “critical or declining status.” Over 400,000 Teamsters face the threat of cuts in the Central States, Local 469, and the New York State Teamsters Pension Plan.
We won a major victory when our grassroots movement convinced the Treasury Department to reject the Central States pension cut plan, but the fund will eventually go broke without action by Congress and 400,000 Teamsters will lose their pensions.
TDU is organizing with the Pension Rights Center, AARP and other allies to defend Teamster pensions.
We will make our voices heard inside our union and on Capitol Hill.
We work our whole lives for our pensions. Now we're working togeteher to save them. Can you help?
