Tim Buban Remembers Ron Carey

Tim BubanA Ron Carey comes along once in a generation.

His legacy will always be the UPS strike and the massive victory it brought to all of us in organized labor.

But to those of us who knew him we remember a kind, compassionate man who was sensitive to others feelings. A fearless person who was willing to take on any foe regardless of how big or powerful, and who at the same time was uncomfortable with praise and being in the spotlight.

History will be kind to this good and brave man.

Tim Buban
Local 200, Milwaukee

Tim Buban worked for the International Union leading up to the UPS strike. He was a delegate to three Teamster Conventions and served as president Local 200. He is now retired.
