UPS Loves Hoffa and Hall: How Do They Show It?

August 17, 2011: On August 12, Ken Hall came to the Earth City hub near St. Louis to campaign, and so UPS management tidied the place up for him.

There are usually a number of nonunion trailers in the yard with UPS packages, including Werner and Con-Way. Before Hall arrived, the trailers were held out of town at the Kingdom City truck stop. Management even told the guards not to allow Werner or Con-Way to come into the yard, and one Con-Way driver had to back out.

So, for 99.9% of the time, it's open season on subcontracting. But to make Hall look good, for a few hours, subcontracting is kept out of sight.

What does that tell you about who management favors in the IBT election?
