Pension Protection Committee Responds to Grassley Bill

The National United Committee to Protect Pensions (NUCPP) has issued a statement in response to the Multiemployer Pension Recapitalization and Reform bill introduced by Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Lamar Alexander (R-TN)

1pension_thumb.jpgThe NUCPP welcomes the Republican initiative but also challenges these senators to work with Senate and House sponsors of the Butch Lewis Act that passed the House in early 2019. The press release also raises concerns regarding the bill’s planned cuts for Teamsters already retired. The NUCPP calls for expedited hearings to “develop a solution to end this crisis now, this year.”

Retired and active Teamsters continue to organize to protect the retirement security that all workers deserve. Contact TDU to get more involved in defending your pension.
