Indiana Local 135 Teamsters at US Foods have won a new contract that delivers 24% or higher wage increases over the life of the contract.

The new contract includes the first-ever Teamster pension benefits for over 200 drivers and warehouse workers who previously only had a company 401(k).
In a strategic breakthrough, the new contract will expire at the same time as the US Foods contract in Michigan Local 337.
By aligning their contract expiration dates, Teamsters in the two locals will be able to coordinate bargaining and collective action, including strikes if necessary.
Under new International Union leadership, the Warehouse Division has embraced this tactic and it has reaped rewards for Teamsters at Sysco, US Foods, Zenith, and Albertsons.

Contract Campaign
Local 135 members won these improvements with a contract campaign that demonstrated a credible strike threat.
Members held parking lot meetings, organized T-shirt days, and mounted practice picketing to show management they were strike-ready.
Negotiations were open to members, and Teamsters attended bargaining on their own time to add pressure on the company.
Warehouse workers and drivers are covered under one contract. Unity was key.
“Drivers and warehouse Teamsters stuck together the whole time. The company saw we were united and that they couldn’t divide us — that’s how we won,” said warehouse Teamster, TDU member, and chief steward Terrell Saunders.
“US Foods is making record profits. Workers everywhere deserve their fair share, and this contract shows what’s possible when Teamsters stand up and fight,” said Chris Eads, a driver steward and TDU member.
This campaign is a reminder that strong contracts are not handed down — they are fought for.
When members stay informed, get organized, act together, and are backed by strong leadership, they can win real gains and build lasting power on the job.
Solidarity wins.
