The most recent LM-2 financial report filed with the Department of Labor shows that the Teamsters paid $63.8 million in strike benefits last year.

That’s 30 times more than the International Union spent on strike benefits per year during James Hoffa Jr.’s last five years in office.

There have been around 350 Teamster strikes since Sean O’Brien and Fred Zuckerman took office in March 2022.

Organizing the Unorganized

Our union’s proven willingness to strike makes it easier to win strong contracts without a strike. Growing Teamster militancy is also motivating nonunion workers to organize with the Teamsters.

More than 10,000 Corewell Health Teamsters in Michigan and 2,000 UnityPoint nurses in Iowa have joined the Teamsters and are fighting for their first contracts.

Our union has organized 90,000 new members since 2022.

New Threats

Corporate greed and changes to technology are bringing new threats to Teamsters, including at UPS, our union’s biggest employer.

UPS is purposefully reducing the number of packages that the company delivers and looking to reduce the workforce too.

Our UPS Teamsters United network brings Teamsters together to share strategies for fighting layoffs, enforcing our contract, and preparing for negotiations in 2028.

Education & Organizing

We need strong union leadership to answer these threats, but we also need informed and involved members.
