UPS Names David Abney CEO, Effective Sept. 1

UPS Inc. named David Abney its new CEO, effective Sept. 1, succeeding Scott Davis, 62, who has been the company’s chairman and CEO since 2008.

Davis, 62, will retire and become the compnay’s non-executive chairman, also in September, the company said June 6. Abney is currently UPS’s chief operating officer.
