Members to Vote on Reddaway Contract

Reddaway Teamsters will decide on a tentative agreement with voting at local union halls on June 10 and 17. Overall results will be announced on June 18.

The contract matches YRC wage rates in Reddaway terminals in those areas. It brings Reddaway Teamsters under the Yellow NMFA, maintains health, welfare and pension plans with NMFA contribution increases, and increases paid holidays and vacation time.

Pay increases will be retroactive to April 1, 2021. Because the Reddaway rates vary widely depending on location, raises will differ depending on classification and location.

The number of holidays is increased from eight to twelve. They will match the holidays in the Western Supplement of the NMFA. Vacations will follow the NMFA.

Reddaway will continue to be able to use Purchased Transportation—subcontracting—but greater protections were bargained for extra-board road drivers.

The union has the sole discretion to limit or discontinue the use of purchased transportation in any geographic area on a 30-day written notice.

Members need to assess the contract provisions, attend local union meetings, ask questions and make an informed decision on their vote.
