LTL news: Teamsters exec says New Penn may be merged into YRC Worldwide

August 19, 2009: A letter from Tyson Johnson, co-chairman of the Teamsters National Freight Industry Negotiating Subcommittee (TNFINC) to Teamsters members of New Penn, a regional LTL subsidiary of YRC Worldwide (YRCW), suggested that YRCW plans to merge New Penn into YRCW.

In his letter to New Penn Teamsters, Johnson said that YRCW called for an “emergency meeting” with the TNFINC which took place on August 11.
