May 14, 2009: YRC has proposed a new Change of Operations to be heard by the union committee the week of June 1. The company plans to close some 28 more terminals, which management says are no longer needed.

700 UNFI Teamsters in California are organizing to win a contract that delivers wage parity with Southern California Grocery Teamsters and an end to unfair discipline policies.
A bill championed by the Teamsters, the Faster Labor Contracts Act, is headed for a vote in the House of Representatives. If passed, the law will require employers to bargain with organized workers within ten days of their voting to form their union.
