URGENT ACTION ALERT: We Can Stop Pension Cuts if We Act Now

UPDATED: After years of grassroots organizing, workers and retirees are on the brink of winning a historic victory this weekend that will save the pensions of millions as part of the American Rescue Plan Act (also known as the COVID-19 Relief Bill).

The American Rescue Plan Act is on the floor of the Senate RIGHT NOW and it will be voted on this weekend.

The bill, includes a provision named after a Teamster and TDU leader, that will protect 2.5 million workers from losing their pensions, including more than 400,000 Teamsters.

Anti-union lobbyists are lobbying furiously to strip the pension protections from the law before it is approved in the Senate. We can stop them, but we have to act RIGHT NOW.

The Senate is holding a “vote-a-rama” today and tonight—a series of back-to-back votes on amendments.

Anti-union lobbyists are pushing hard for the pension protection reforms to be watered-down or stripped altogether during this amendment period.

Now is the critical time to make our voices heard by calling our Senators and telling them to save the earned pensions of workers and retirees.
