August 12, 2011: The union that represents ramp workers at United Airlines won an election on Thursday to cover more than 14,000 workers as it combines with Continental.
It's a big win for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, which just gained more than 7,300 Continental workers from the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

Five hundred fifty Teamsters came together at TDU’s 50th TDU Convention to share strategies for building union power from the bottom up and to set our course for the coming year, including endorsing and helping to re-elect the O’Brien-Zuckerman Teamsters United Slate.
Members elected the 92 Teamsters United Slate to lead Teamsters Local 92 in Canton, Ohio. The election capped off a grassroots campaign that united members from UPS, Republic Services, Pepsi and other employers.
