Teamsters United delegates brought the voices and concerns of working Teamsters to the IBT Convention. They faced down boos, threats, and intimidation. They stood tall in the face of racist, sexist and homophobic slurs from Hoffa delegates. They spoke to the issues, spoke up for the members and they did us all Teamster proud.

Fred Zuckerman and the Teamsters United slate were successfully nominated in balloting by delegates at the Teamster Convention. The future of our union is in the members’ hands. A ballot will be mailed to every Teamster this October.

Hoffa Slate Trustee Kevin Moore was fined by the Election Supervisor for using union resources to support the Hoffa Campaign at the Teamster Convention.

[UPDATED] The Hoffa-Hall administration declared there should be no International Union election this fall and denounced Teamsters who want the opportunity to vote for new leadership as a threat.

All ten Teamsters United candidates for At-Large Vice President and Trustee were easily nominated in a vote by the delegates at the IBT Convention on Tuesday.

Delegates to the Teamsters union convention in Las Vegas this week are likely to set the stage for what may be the toughest fight for leadership of the union since James P. Hoffa, 75, won the presidency 17 years ago.

The Teamster Convention is our union’s highest decision-making body. But if the past is any guide, Hoffa will treats it like a Las Vegas side show. What can we expect from Hoffa at the Teamster Convention?

UPDATED! Hoffa and Hall have quietly revealed who they plan to add to their slate when they dump Rome Aloise, after the IBT Convention. Despite the grotesque charges against Aloise, Hoffa and Hall plan to stand by him this week in Las Vegas, but they have picked their substitute candidate: Rick Hicks, of Seattle Local 174.
