Diesel Exposure May Increase Cancer Risk For Drivers, Dockworkers
January 21, 2009: Truck drivers and dockworkers routinely exposed to diesel and other vehicle exhaust have an increased risk of dying from lung cancer, and the risk increases the longer a worker stays on the job, according to a new study of 31,000 members of the Teamsters union. On January 15, the Independent Review Board charged Rick Radek, a Vice President of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET), with taking over $6,700 for his own use.
