June 24, 2013: Updated 6 pm. Louisville Local 89 voted by 4156 to 509 against the national contract which led to a decisive rejection of the entire Central Region Supplement, the largest supplemental agreement. Louisville's big no vote adds to strong rejections from most locals in Ohio, Michigan and Iowa. We expect Indiana to reject the agreement when Indianapolis Local 135 votes are counted. It will be the last local counted. Louisville Local 89 Teamsters...
Stand Up to UPS, Don't Stand on the Sidelines
Updated June 30, 2013: One thousand UPS Teamsters just held a national conference call to discuss plans to fight healthcare cuts and win a better contract. Members in supplements across the country are passing out bulletins, planning parking lot meetings, and circulating petitions to tell Hoffa-Hall and the company: "We'll Keep Voting No Until UPS Gets it Right!" TDU is helping to network UPS Teamsters who want to get involved with these efforts. Now's the...

IBT's Contract Ballot Screw-ups Undermine our Union
June 18, 2013: The vote counts on the UPS, UPS Freight and ABF contracts have been screwed up in too many ways to count. When our contracts are being voted on, Teamster members deserve a ballot process they can have confidence in. If you work for 25 or 30 years, you may only get to vote on about five contracts, determining your benefits, wages and working conditions. Consider just a few examples: Many thousands of...
