Our Teamsters Union has the most democratic elections and election rules of any major union—and it didn’t happen by accident. TDU worked hard to secure fair rules, and we continue to work to maintain democratic rules and an independent Election Supervisor. 

The independent Election Supervisor has certified the O'Brien-Zuckerman Teamsters United Slate as officially accredited candidates after OZ Teamsters United turned in 127,642 signatures signed by Teamster members. Read the Election Supervisor notice here.

New legislation has been introduced in the House that would require employers to bargain with newly organized workers within 10 days of voting to form their union.

An Administrative Law Judge slapped down UPS Healthcare’s latest legal shenanigans and ordered them to begin bargaining with Teamsters Local 439.

The largest strike in the Teamsters has ended in a decisive win for 1,400 Teamsters at the University of Minnesota. Hours after a massive strike rally and facing a deadline from Farm Aid that it would honor the picket lines and cancel a 50,000 person concert, the University administration surrendered. 

UPDATE: After Teamsters at the University of Minnesota won their strike, Farm Aid has announced it will move forward with its concert and festival saying, "For four decades Farm Aid has stood with farmers and workers. Today's agreement is what can be achieved when people come together in the spirit of fairness and solidarity."

Amazon Teamsters rallied with labor and community supporters in New York City to protest union-busting at the DBK4 delivery station.

Nurses in Des Moines rallied yesterday to demand that UnityPoint Health recognize their union. The majority of the 2,000 nurses who work at four hospitals in Des Moines have signed cards to join Teamsters Local 90. 

CEO Carol Tomé’s surprise visit to UPS in Plainfield, Indiana did not go as planned. Local 135 members crashed the party with a parking lot rally and show of force that sent Tomé running for cover.
