As part of a court settlement, the Teamster anti-corruption panel known as the Independent Review Board (IRB) will begin a transition period on February 17. But, in reality, very little will change from how the IRB functions.

The US Treasury Department has published a proposed rule which rejects UPS’s claim that Central States pensions should be cut even more to save the giant corporation from living up to its contract clause to “make whole” UPS Teamsters who retired in 2008 and after. 

The third quarter financial report of the Central States Pension Fund shows assets dropped to $15.9 billion, due in large part to the stock market decline last August. 

More than 700 people jammed the hall at the University of Minnesota to present Kenneth Feinberg with their overwhelming opposition to proposed pension cuts.

The New York State Teamsters Pension Plan has issued a letter to 35,000 members and retirees that it plans to slash benefits. 

Teamster retiree and current members plan to rally outside the Democratic Party debate on Thursday at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. The rally will raise strong opposition to proposed cuts to their Central States pensions.

UPS executives announced that the company tripled its peak-season profits and hauled in an astonishing $4.8 billion in profits after taxes in 2015. The company’s freight sector, including UPS Freight, reported higher revenue and profits too.
