Retired Teamsters converged on the E Ross Adair Federal building in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Tuesday calling for their Congressional representatives Dan Coats (R-IN), Martin Stutzman (R-IN) and Senator Joe Donnelly (D-IN) to support them in a call for the U.S. Treasury Secretary to reject proposed pension cuts by Central States. 

Rita Lewis, the widow of long- time Cincinnati Local 100 leader Butch Lewis, testified before a Senate Finance Committee hearing today and called on the Senate to address the devastating potential impact of proposed Central States benefit cuts.

Over 70 retirees and spouses met on Saturday just north of the Rio Grande in San Juan, and the hot topic was the fight to defend their Central States pension benefits. These retirees hail from 15 states and 25 different locals.

Rome Aloise, International Vice President and the most powerful Hoffa-Slate official in the West, has been slapped with charges for massive corruption violations. His career as a Teamster official and Hoffa Slate power broker is likely over.

The huge economic impact that the proposed cuts by the Central States would have on American communities is now detailed for all 435 Congressional Districts.

Teamster mechanics picketed United Airlines at the San Francisco, Houston and Orlando airports on Friday in an escalation of their fight for an industry-leading contract. 

There was not an empty seat in the house as over one thousand Teamsters packed the Kansas City Convention Center to participate in the last public hearing scheduled by the US Department of Treasury, and hosted by Special Master Kenneth Feinberg.
