Fred Zuckerman announced his candidacy for Teamster General President on a national conference call with Teamsters United campaign volunteers.

It has been six weeks since the Independent Review Board (IRB) issued a blistering report which recommended that Cleveland Local 400 be placed in trusteeship, but once again the Hoffa administration has so far done nothing about corruption in Ohio. 

A State of the Union Report published by Teamsters Local 804 sums up Tim Sylvester and his team's accomplishments as a leaders, winners and rebuilders of Teamster Power. Congratulations to Local 804 members on everything they've accomplished in the last six years. 

Hoffa can't run on his record so he is targeting his opponents with fake "grassroots" campaigns, a dirty tactic known as astroturfing.

Bill Lichtenwald, under fire after a blistering report by the Independent Review Board (IRB) on his conduct as president of the Ohio Conference of Teamsters, has resigned as a Trustee of the Central States Pension Fund. Many members and retirees say “good riddance!”

The Kansas City Pension Protection Committee has a campaign for an investigation of the Central States Fund, in cooperation with Congressman Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO).  Cleaver sits on the House Committee on Oversight and Investigations.

A crowd of over 500 Teamsters and retirees in Kansas City yesterday listened intently as Karen Friedman, Policy Director of the Pension Rights Center, told them “we must escalate our efforts to protect our pensions.“

Standing before 300 active and retired Teamsters at a meeting of the Cincinnati Area Teamsters Retiree Club, Bill Lichtenwald – Central States Fund Trustee -- stated he would put a motion forward at the next Central States Trustees meeting to withdraw the Plan Reduction submitted to the Treasury Department and allow for another year before putting forward any new proposal. 

The IBT Freight Division has given the green light to YRC to install front-facing cameras in all tractors to record events such as swerves, speeding, and hard braking. YRC has agreed to not use the recordings for discipline; only to “protect” drivers.
