The IBT is serving up an insulting “last best and final” offer from UPS Freight for a vote to be conducted by Local Unions on November 9-10-11 with in-person voting. The offer contains zero improvements in the wage proposal, where a five-year tiny increase would cause wages to fall far behind inflation. It offers no real improvement in the subcontracting language.

This morning, UPS announced third-quarter profits of $1.5 billion and new projections that the company will make between $6.1 and $6.4 billion in profits after taxes this year. But the Hoffa administration still won’t budge from imposing contract givebacks over a No Vote of the members.

Contract negotiations will be held on Thursday and Friday in Chicago where 10,000 UPSers are covered by Local 705’s Local 705's contract which is entirely separate from the National Master Agreement.

The IBT and UPS Freight are bargaining this week, as members expect action on the key issues of protecting jobs from subcontracting, wage increases that match inflation, and more.

A packed Local 705 union hall today sent a loud message today that they're ready to take on UPS. Over 1,000 members turned out for a mass meeting today to show support for their negotiating committee which will meet with the company on October 25-26.

Denis Taylor has repeatedly promised local unions and members that he will return to the bargaining table with UPS. But no date has been set. Here are 5 things the IBT can do fix the disaster at UPS. They will only happen if UPSers keep the pressure on.

Despite declaring the contract ratified, Denis Taylor says he will “return to the bargaining table to address a number of member concerns with the National Master UPS Agreement.” When bargaining resumes, UPSers expect our issues to be addressed.

UPSers are putting their anger to good use. We organized and Voted No to reject contract givebacks.  Now Hoffa and Denis Taylor are saying the contracts we rejected are “ratified.”

We demand they renegotiate reasonable changes.

We still haven’t heard a peep from Hoffa since UPS and UPS Freight Teamsters Voted No. Now, we know why. A few days after the ballot count, Hoffa and his top advisers skipped town for a 10-day trip to Singapore.

The strong No vote delivered a message to UPS Freight management. Our leadership may be cozy with you – but we want a good contract. This is our chance to win the contract we deserve.
