Investigations Officer Calls for Permanent Ban on Aloise

The Independent Investigations Officer (IIO) has recommended that Judge Barbara Jones expel Rome Aloise from the IBT, and impose a permanent ban on contact between Aloise and any Teamster.

IIO Joseph diGenova submitted a 12-page brief to the Judge on November 13. Judge Jones will now hear from Aloise’s lawyers, and then impose a sentence on him.

The IIO warned that, without a ban on contact with Teamsters, Aloise could “return as a representative for vendors and employers in connection with transactions with the IBT.”

He argued in detail that “this path for Aloise is not idle speculation.” The IIO cited how Aloise repeatedly “assisted employers,” and bragged to Southern Wine & Spirits management about “how many fires he put out for it with Teamster locals.”

Judge Jones will hear from Aloise’s attorneys by the end of November and issue a final penalty thereafter.

Aloise’s Teamster career is all but over. His high-priced attorneys will likely argue against the permanent ban on association.

Hoffa has said nothing about Judge Jones’s October 24 decision finding Aloise guilty of taking employer gifts, racketeering, negotiating a sham contract, and other corruption.

That tells you all you need to know about Hoffa’s intentions of cleaning up corruption at the highest levels of his administration.
