On this day in 1976, a small group of courageous Teamsters met in Kent, Ohio, to form Teamsters for a Democratic Union (TDU).

I’m excited to be at the Teamster Women’s Conference. Let’s take the information and organizing skills we learn here and put them to work building a stronger union—including tearing down the barriers to participation for Teamster women.

The U.S. Treasury announced it has approved pension cuts for 35,000 retirees and active Teamsters covered under the New York State Teamsters Pension Fund. The cuts will take place effect on October 1.

Hoffa has appointed Kris Taylor from Dallas Local 745 to negotiate the UPS Freight contract.  UPS Freight Teamsters need to be ready to fight for a good contract, because their lead negotiator will not be.

Alex Adams, a former member of the TDU Steering Committee and founding member of the Northeast Ohio Committee to Protect Pensions, was presented with a 'Citizen of the Year' award by the City of Maple Heights Ohio on September 6.

UPS is moving ahead with plans to hire drivers to make deliveries with their own cars. Our union needs to draw a line in the sand.

In a letter to the General President in response to his firing, Sean O'Brien blasts Hoffa for sabotaging the contract fight at UPS and letting "political hacks" run the union.

Hoffa has removed Sean O’Brien as the head of the Teamster Package Division and as the union’s lead contract negotiator at UPS and UPS Freight, saying the union needs to move in “another direction.”

This Labor Day, TDU stands in solidarity with fellow Teamsters and workers everywhere who are uniting to take on corporate greed and fight for a just society.

The IBT issued a memo announcing the decision regarding the YRC multi-region proposed change of operations.
