UPS has 283 million reasons to delay retro pay

Ten weeks. That’s the latest word from IBT Package Director Denis Taylor on how long it will take UPS to issue retro checks–money owed to you–following the April 29 implementation of the contract. Taylor reported to officers and agents at the national grievance panel meeting that retro checks are expected in the first pay period in July. There is no report that Taylor attempted to do anything about the stretching out of “6-8 weeks” to 10-11 weeks.

UPS Contract is In Effect—Now What?

The new UPS contract is now in effect for five years. This whole ugly process has exposed the need for new leadership and a new direction in our International Union.

Detroit Votes Yes – UPS National Contract is Settled

The final vote on the UPS national contract was held today, and the Metro Detroit Rider was ratified by an unofficial vote of 295-121. The International Union has declared the contract in effect, and says that UPS "will attempt to implement required raises during the next weekly pay period."

Metro Detroit Rider Passes

UPS Teamsters represented by Local 243 and covered under the Metro Detroit Rider voted today to accept the recommended changes by 295-121. It was an 18.43% turnout of eligible voters.
